When to visit
In February, March
and April, hellebores flower throughout the garden. One border is devoted to
doubles, anemone centred, picotees and some named varieties. Pulmonarias and
geraniums are also beginning with new seedlings appearing every year.
The start of May sees the specie paeonia followed by paeonia lactiflora which
will last well into July.
Throughout June, July and August, the many herbaceous perennials take over.
Important among them are astrantia, papaver and helenium.
In August agapanthus, grasses and crocosmia are at their best, followed by a
large collection of colchicum.
This is just a very small selection of my favourite plants. There are also
unusual herbaceous perennials, shrubs and bulbs everywhere whilst clematis
flower all summer making this a garden for all months.
