Abbey Dore Court Gardens: News

Back on TV – C4, 8pm on September 15th

Look out for us on 15th September as Ruth Watson and Country House Rescue return to Abbey Dore to see how we got on.  You might remember we didn’t completely agree with Ruth for a whole host of reasons but found her help and impetus to be invaluable.

We’re on the telly again soon – Country House Rescue revisits us

You may have seen us originally on Channel 4’s Country House Rescue. You may also know that Ruth (Watson) returns to a few of the houses and we’re thrilled that she chose us.

The filming is all done, Ruth left with a big smile and we’re hoping it’ll be on our screens soon, so do keep a look out for us!

New – Wood Burners

One suggestion from guests was about the fires. It seems we prefer the ease, efficiency and warmth of wood burners so we have installed one in the magnificent huge drawing room and also one in the more cosy and intimate morning room.  These are of course in addition to our state-of-the-art, oil fired, central heating system. Now you’re guaranteed to be kept even more warm and cosy in the winter months ahead.

One year on and new improvements

Well we made it! Year one has come and gone and what a first year it was. Well, to be true, it all started in October 2009 as renovations started but it wasn’t until May last year that the first guests arrived.

Since then we’ve been really busy and the feedback from guests has been full of praise.  In particular they said they really enjoyed the space, the old and modern renovations, the luxury and particularly the homely feel of the house. Outside, the garden and the sound and tranquillity of the river both got great reviews.

Families have enjoyed birthday celebrations, family reunions, hen weekends, walking parties and much more.

To see the house alive again and hearing the laughter of friends and families has thrown life back into Abbey Dore Court. Thank you to all who have come and enjoyed the house so far, we hope to see you back again soon.

We also got some great suggestions and, as a result, you will find a few more touches and additions to the house all designed to make your stay that much more enjoyable.

So, if you would like to experience the space and tranquillity of Abbey Dore Court please just give us a call on 01981 240279.

I think we’re famous!

Well we survived the ordeals of being the subject of a TV show and we really hope you enjoyed it and saw what a wonderful place Abbey Dore is.

The website has gone mad and there seems to be a lot of interest in the house and garden.  Furnishing and final decoration is almost complete and we look forward to welcoming our first visitors to the house in May.  Do check the availability calendar here for latest information.

We will be updating new photos on the site over the next few days as well as it all comes together.

Abbey Dore Court in Weekend Magazine

Ahead of our appearance in April on Country House Rescue (Thursdays, 8pm, Channel 4), Weekend Magazine from the Daily Mail has done a piece on us at Abbey Dore.  We’re not sure we quite agree with all the contents, but, heh, that’s the media! Click the link below to see the article.
